Thanksgiving on Music Monday

Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

Let me hide myself in Thee;

Let the water and the blood,

From Thy wounded side which flowed,

Be of sin the double cure,

Save from wrath and make me pure.

Not the labor of my hands

Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;

Could my zeal no respite know,

Could my tears forever flow,

All for sin could not atone;

Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,

Simply to Thy cross I cling;

Naked, come to Thee for dress;

Helpless, look to Thee for grace;

Foul, I to the fountain fly;

Wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,

When my eyes shall close in death,

When I rise to worlds unknown,

And behold Thee on Thy throne,

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

Let me hide myself in Thee.

-Augustus M. Toplady (1740-1778)

In season and out of season- always giving thanks

  • finally a weekend at home
  • the gift of a pedicure from a sweet friend
  • a night catching up with friends
  • breakfast with a kindred spirit
  • a day all to myself to clean house and catch up
  • an evening with a godly lady in my church who helps me process life
  • laughing with my husband
  • a refreshing, gospel-filled Sunday with my church family
  • coffee even when running late
  • lunch with friends dreaming of our futures
  • ingredients to make a pie
  • a short work week then off to family!
  • waking up to a clean home
  • waking up early enough…trying to break that habit
  • new mercies every morning

“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

Psalm 19:14
